Dhyan Vatika

CVDV

We are extremely pleased to inform you about a new eco-friendly initiative at Chinmaya Vibhooti, which was blessed and named by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda on 28 th May 2017. “Dhyan Vatika” is our attempt to revive an ancient tradition of maintaining sacred groves, known in Maharashtra as Devrai. These groves, preserved all over India as a way to worship nature, have recently come under threat due to rapid urbanisation. 550 indigenous trees have been planted in the three acres of Dhyan Vatika, including two Panchavatis. Individuals/families/groups are welcome to support the initiative by offering Rs 5000 per tree. This covers water, fertiliser and labour for 3 years, after which the grove will grow undisturbed in its natural environment. Donors would have the privilege of giving back to nature and contributing to a lovely, meditative area which will give a lot of spiritual benefit to seekers at Chinmaya Vibhooti in the years to come. Such activity has a ripple effect in creating a happy and harmonious world around us.
